Kameron Locke originated the role of PHOTO in Brook Andrew's post-traumatic theatrical work, GABAN. This work meditates on the colonial institutions' ongoing role in the treatment of Aboriginal "Australian" and indigenous communities and communities of color and considers what reparations can look like. In this role, he reflected on the character's trajectory from starting off imprisoned to uprising and gaining their freedom. Kameron melded vocalization, performance, and theater to embody his character and represent PHOTO's arch. GABAN was featured in GROPIUS BAU'S YOYI! Care, Repair, Heal exhibition from September 2022 to January 2023. Kameron performed at Gropius Bau for the exhibition opening ceremony in September. Kameron was also invited to reprise his role and make his Sydney debut for the Art Gallery New South Wale's opening ceremony of their expansive Sydney Modern Project from November to December 2022.
